There are two categories of crimes in Oklahoma: Misdemeanors and Felonies. Misdemeanors, unless otherwise allowed by law, have a punishment range of up to one year in jail and up to a $500 fine. Felonies are the most serious category of crimes in our criminal justice system, and each felony has its own penalties associated with it.
